US Representative Ivey of MD-4 is a perfect candidate for the US Senate in 2024 if Cardin retires.

Ivey is a member of the US House of Representatives.
The last 4 MD US Senators Van Hollen,Cardin,Mikulski, and Sarbanes served in the US House of Representatives right before becoming US Senator.
Ivey is an African American Male from Prince George’s County.
MD Democrats nominated 2 African American male candidates from Prince George’s County to statewide office.- Moore for Governor and Brown for Attorney General.
Ivey worked in the US Senate in the 1990’s as chief counsel to Daschle and Paul Sarbanes.
Ivey has more Congressional Experience than Alsobrooks.
Ivey served two terms as PG County State Attorney from 2002 to 2010 right before Alsobrooks. Ivey could have been PG County Executive from 2010-2018 but was more interested in becoming a member of the US House of Representatives in 2012,2016,and 2022.
Ivey became a member of the US House in 2023. MD has had a US Senator that served 1 term in the US House before becoming a US Senator- Glenn Beall Jr. (US House from 1969-1971/US Senate from 1971-1977).

Glenn Ivey will win the Democratic Primary and the November General Election if he decides to run.
