Allred was born in Dallas,TX from an interracial marriage.
Allred attended college at Baylor University where he played college football.
Allred played played professional football for the Tennessee Titans.
After Football, Allred attend law school( University of California Berkeley School of Law.
Allred’s legal careers were special assistant in the the US HUD Office of Special Counsel under the Obama Administration and worked at a law firm that dealt with voting rights, political candidates and advocacy groups.
Allred got elected to the US House of Representative in 2018 from a swing district by unseating a Republican incumbent Pete Sessions by a 6 to 7 percent margin.

I don't know if he has the "it" factor that would juxtapose well against Ted Cruz. However, if Cruz runs for president instead of senator in 2024 then the race will need to be reassessed.
