They are English Nationalists who care not a jot for the Kingdom, BoJo's 'deal' makes it obvious.

Raise your hands if you think the BoJo deal has a hope in hell of getting through Parliament ...
No border on Ireland
Customs handled on the mainland
Effectively a wet border treating NI different from the rest of the Kingdom...

The DUP has been thrown under the Boris bus...heh. They thought that the May deal was not a real Brexit, when she was protecting NI at the heart of it. What shall we call it now? NIEXIT - NI's exit from the mainland in a very real way, as they lose their right to consent under this deal.
I said from the beginning of this that a wet border was the only way to protect the GFA. It has always been ridiculous that the DUP as the Brexit supporting party thought that there could be any other solution. Of course today, Unionist heads exploding in 3...2...1.... (and tough shite Arlene). They have been so bloody blinkered and belligerent throughout this and it seems that this No. 10 is not letting them get away with it - that of course is because the current inhabitants of no 10 are English Nationalists, they do not give a fuck for the Kingdom.
Of course at this point BoJo is saying this deal or no deal. DUP is never going to vote for this. Some of the ERG will stand behind the DUP on this. Labour has said they will not vote for it. It is bad....

Crash out or extension is the question of the day... he is trying to bounce the EU into making a declaration that there will be no extension after the 31st October 2019. Lets see. I think channel 504 is in all our futures on Saturday!

from the moment the prospect of Brexit became a reality (similar problems arise from the long-proposed repeal and replacement of the UK Human Rights Act 1988, as the Good Friday Agreement incorporates elements of the European Convention on Human Rights), but sadly next to no one in government.

It became even more of a problem when May had to buy off the DUP to cobble together a majority.

Since Johnson hasn't got a majority for anything even with the DUP's votes, it's hard to see why the government's still clinging on to them. If they abandoned that tack, there might be more scope for seeking the votes of other MPs for an agreement, and probably more than the DUP could offer.

I guess they followed the same logic as I did above!

Maybe I should apply for a job as a spad?

Good luck with cobbling together the rest of the votes required for a deal, anyway. Maybe Johnson et al. shouldn't have set about making so many enemies in parliament.

God no, there's no way I'm wasting a Saturday watching that. Hell, we've got 2 rugby quarter finals in the morning. And spending the afternoon rearranging a sock drawer would be more productive.
