Related: About this forumA question for my friends in the UK
Born in London way back in 57 and have been overseas almost my whole life.
Looking for an internet talk radio station that can give me real-time insight as to what's going on.
So far, most stations I've tried to dial into on the net restrict listeners to UK audiences only.
Would love to dial into a station or two that can give me insight as to what's going on.
Talksport radio is great, but would really like to hear some more important and relevant programming...
Ta in advance..

(22,757 posts)Has a website you can listen on and it is available on several phone apps also
Tune In Radio is the phone app. there are actually several stations like WCPT around the country, I just like it best. Anyway on Tune In go to talk radio then progressive talk and you will find the stations.
WCPT is all progressive all day. Show you can call in to.
Also you might be able to hook into Free Speech TV on your computer.
Have you tried Al-Jazirah? I understand it has excellent news coverage.
I am not in the UK but it is worth a try to see if you can get any of these.

It's a mixed talk radio bag, ranging from Nigel Farage to the excellent James O'Brien.
It's also got a YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCb1Ti1WKPauPpXkYKVHNpsw
Some background on the station here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LBC

(10,421 posts)BBC iPlayer app.... Radio 4 for domestic speech output, Five Live for output similar to TalkSport but without adverts. BBC local stations often have phone ins (though typically interspersed with music).
Also as mentioned earlier the TuneIn app - good for LBC and all non-geofenced UK streaming stations. Though a VPN can help circumvent this problem for UK only streamers.

(25 posts)You can get a VPN service that will give the appearance that you are in the UK. After that, you can connect to whatever station you like.
I do the same in reverse, since many (most) video and streams from the states are blocked here in the U.K. and other countries.
Region codes, etc are quite aggravating.
Be sure to select a VPN provider that does not retain or report your web traffic, and also is based outside the United States if possible.
