Aussie leadership has ripped into Sen. Ted Cruz after he tried to shame the country for its COVID mandates.

Last week, Cruz responded to a vaccine mandate announcement for Australia's northern territory, which will fine those who don't receive the COVID vaccine up to $5,000.

In the tweet he lauds the country's "rugged independence" calling it the "Texas of the Pacific," but then proceeds to call the vaccine mandate "COVID tyranny" that is "disgraceful and sad."

I love the Aussies. Their history of rugged independence is legendary; I’ve always said Australia is the Texas of the Pacific.

The Covid tyranny of their current government is disgraceful & sad.

Individual liberty matters.

I stand with the people of #Australia https://t.co/9elCF0KRA3

Michael Gunner, Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, took notice and gave the Texas senator a polite "G'day," before railing into him with facts comparing Australia to Texas when it come to handling COVID-19.

In a statement attached Gunner's tweet, he points out that there have been zero deaths in the Northern Territory of Australia from COVID-19 compared to Texas' 70,000 deaths.

G’day from Down Under @tedcruz. Thanks for your interest in the Territory. I’m the Chief Minister. Below are a few facts about COVID down here. https://t.co/cGFwBP7Nqx pic.twitter.com/mGNyOxlN41

"We don't need your lectures, thanks mate," Gunner says. "You know nothing about us. And if you stand against a life-saving vaccine, then you sure as hell don't stand with Australia."

people like Ted Cruz think they are witty, funny and cool. They don't possess even a hint of cognizance that most people think they're miserable, loathsome slobs. Just fucking sad and utterly pathetic.

I think Michael Grunner covered it well, but how stupid is Ted Cruz? We don't want that dumbfuck standing anywhere near us. He may have Covid. Tyranny, my arse. He doesn't even know enough to know that the Commonwealth government is RW. They're the ones who closed our borders. The NSW, SA and Tasmanian state govts are RW. They're the ones who imposed lockdowns. NSW went too slow and too late, which is why the Delta strain got away from them, but compare the number of deaths per capita or whatever it is in Australia vs Texas. Moral of the story is even our RW govts value human life far more than Ted Cruz does.

Also Michael Grunner was far more polite than I would have been. Fuck off, Ted Cruz, Clean up your own totalitarian nightmare of a backyard before you think about looking anywhere else...
