If you haven't returned your absentee ballot yet for the Wisconsin election April 1, here's how you can

If you requested an absentee ballot for Wisconsin's April 1 election, it's a good idea to mail it back as soon as possible or make a plan to return it another way.

Your clerk must have your ballot by the time polls close at 8 p.m. on Election Day for your vote to count. So, don't wait until April 1 to put your ballot in the mailbox.

Election officials generally recommend mailing back your ballot at least a week in advance, or March 25. But it's a good idea to do it sooner rather than later.

The City of Milwaukee recommends mailing your absentee ballot no later than eight days before Election Day.
