Hundreds line up in Milwaukee to cast their ballot on the last day of early voting

On a rainy Sunday, more than a hundred voters wrapped around the building of the Capitol Drive Voting Center, located on Milwaukee's north side, waiting to cast their ballot in the Nov. 5 election.

Local faith leaders and parishioners teamed up with Souls to the Polls, an organization dedicated to increase voter turnout, to transport buses of people to the Capitol Drive Voting Center on Sunday, the final day of early voting in Milwaukee.

"I know how resilient this community is, and I'm not surprised," said Reverend Gregory Lewis, director of Souls to the Polls. "It's the kind of energy that occurs when people stand together. That's what's happening right now. People are focused and standing together, and they want to make sure that their voices are heard."

Election workers expected more than 700 voters to cast their ballots at the center between noon and 4 p.m.
