Harris, Trump in a tug-of-war for Wisconsin union voters

It has been a hectic month-and-a-half in American politics. But Yasin Mahdi has been so busy, he barely notices.

Mahdi is president of United Auto Workers Local 180, which represents workers at CNH's tractor plant in Racine. In April, the company announced layoffs, months after the union went on strike in search of a better deal.

In July, the company tried to get some of the laid-off workers back in the factory but many declined, Mahdi said. He said he has filed grievances against CNH for violating their agreement with workers.

Mahdi said he hasn’t talked extensively about the ongoing presidential election with his members. He figures they’re split pretty evenly between supporting Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

There is only 1 Party today that supports their collective best interests. They may the BS (on sale!) from Republicans, but their vote helps to keep themselves in a state of constant uncertainty.
