Superior School Board votes to add referendum to November ballot

The School District of Superior’s School Board voted to add a new referendum to November’s general election ballot. The board voted 5-0 at a meeting Monday evening.

The referendum will ask Superior residents whether they will pay more in property taxes to help fund the school district over the next five years.

This request comes after the School District of Superior has had to make budget cuts over the past few years.

According to District Administrator Dr. Amy Starzecki, loss of federal funds from the pandemic, declining enrollment and an increase of inflationary expenses all led up to the request for the referendum.
