The Wisconsin State AFL-CIO has endorsed Katrina Shankland in her run to defeat Derrick Van Orden as Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District Representative. Rep. Van Orden has been in the news for all the wrong reasons during his time in Washington. Last year he received bipartisan backlash after he swore at teenage Senate pages and his labor voting record is just 10%. It’s time for a change.
Katrina Shankland is currently a state legislator with a proven record of passing bills that cross the aisle and is a staunch supporter of working families. Her track record has earned her the endorsements of many local organizations, unions, and lawmakers. We need Katrina in Washington fighting for us.
We have a virtual phone bank ready to make calls from home to union households about Shankland’s run in the important upcoming primary. We’re also talking about our opposition to the proposed state constitutional amendments that will, among many problems, curb Governor Evers’ powers to quickly act in the event of natural disasters. We have scripts, talking points, and training (if needed); we just need you. Let us know when you can step up and we’ll get you set.
