From an email.

Some people learn the hard way.
Rather weak comment by Renee.

Renee Jacque, wife of state Sen. Andre Jacque (R-De Pere), Wife of Lawmaker on Ventilator Asks People to 'Consider' Getting Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Renee Jacque, wife of state Sen. Andre Jacque (R-De Pere), who is currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, released a statement to Channel 2 WBAY in Green Bay asking that anyone who is eligible to "consider" getting the vaccine.

“While vaccination is a personal choice, I ask that those individuals who are eligible and able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine please consider placing their trust in the medical professionals who recommend it,” Renee Jacque wrote in her statement.

Andre Jacque was hospitalized on Aug. 17 and later placed on a ventilator. He and several members of his family tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday and Friday the week before. Renee Jacque, who has six children, said five of eight members of their family tested positive. Three family members are vaccinated, and just one had a breakthrough case of the virus, she said.

Pierre Jacque, Andre Jacque’s brother, who has publicly denounced his family’s politics and encouraged people to get vaccinated, said on Twitter that Renee’s statement was “GOOD and BRAVE of her.”

“I do not envy the batshit crazy blowback that will come from certain family members and peers,” Pierre Jacque wrote.

There's nothing "personal" about a communicable disease, which is the reason the field is called "public health."

I feel for the family and wish them well, but I had a conversation with Jacque last winter about masks and vaccinations. He hung up on me when I asked his response to the many deaths that were occurring because of covid. He was not a very pleasant man. I was angry at Republican for shooting down the mask mandate in Wi.

We have been very careful about masks as my husband and daughter had to work with the public through it all and I have some risk factors. My husband started wearing a mask again when delta numbers started coming in. My 10 year old grandson is one of two in his class who wore a mask when school started. The teacher sent out pictures of the class to parents. This week all k through 6th grade have been mandated to wear them because of the number of illnesses after 1 week. I was so proud of him for wearing it, and he is ready to get the vaccine as soon as he can.

Jacques and Mike Gallagher both live in my neck if the woods. They both disgust me. And I will contribute to any dem who runs against them.

is also a personal choice that can affect only the driver.

First she validates their 'beliefs', then she encourages they themselves to come to the preferred conclusion.

This can be effective, believe it or not.

I don't think we should put her down for it, even if it's not as forceful as we'd prefer.
