I 100% disagree with your evaluation, but hope the Packers agree and try it. Don't think they will be happy with the results.

I'm a Rogers fan because I won several Fantasy Leagues with him when he first started, he's been very very good for me. He was also pretty freaking awesome as the host for Jeopardy IMO.

Not a Packer fan (displaced Viking fan living south of Green Bay) as a disclaimer. Packer fans are horrendously spoiled by the QB they have had for the last nearly 3 decades. If it weren't for Rodgers, the Packers would have been hot garbage for the last 5-6 years. Probably longer. Take a look at the wide receivers that were awesome on the Packers and then were just mediocre when they left. That's not because of anything other than Rodgers. He makes average receivers great. If Love was throwing the ball, Adams would be average at best.

and it doesn't seem to be about the money.

However, he is still under contract with the Packers. They won't trade him, and it may already be too late for him to get traded to and play for another team this season anyway.

So he can either play for the Packers or retire. You can't win Super Bowl rings and other accolades when you're retired.

I'm guessing he'll show up for camp a week from now, but nobody really knows.

Year off or so and I believe he's good to go.

I'm glad the Packers offered an extension so that it was clear this wasn't about money. The front office has been horrible in drafting and hasn't given him any weapons and just expects him to continue to carry the team on his back.

but he's already gone in spirit.

Since Lombardi, the Packers have been pretty good at screwing up every good thing they have. I'm sure their just as capable of screwing this up.
