Anyone else not real excited about Tommy Thompson becoming interim uw system president?

Wasn't he the beginning of the Koch takeover of Wisconsin? When are we going to be done with old white Republican men? I'll admit to some bias against old white Republican men. I

Tommy T. is like a well-worn, overused "Welcome" mat. Additionally, his instinct to compromise in politics is now passe since the Teabag GOP ideology is to take no prisoners. Additionally, additionally, his current GOP philosophy is chameleon-like.

He was for high-speed rail while he was Governor (even served as Chair of Amtrak BoD), then against it when Scott Walker made it a keystone to be anti-Obama everything early in his administration including rail. Tommy T. was completely silent on the most recent attempt at hiring new leadership at UW. The Bd of Regents selection committee (Koch selected, Walker appointed) actually secretly chose only one publicly announced candidate as the winner, who was offered the job, but then backed out for unknown reasons. The list is replete with Tommy T.'s hypocrisy since leaving Wisconsin. Tommy T. was completely silent on every significant state issue since he embarked on typical ex-pol career of getting his payback from corporate and donor groups when time in elected office was up.

Better for Tommy T. to continue piling up millions (I use that term advisedly) and keep trying to take it along with him when he departs for the after-life.

I vaguely recall Thompson working with a company that was working on embedded chips that would carry payment info, medical data, tracking, and other information that could be accessed remotely.
