Good evening. My husband owns a small business. He filed for unemployment weeks ago but we have received nothing. I didnt see how he filed. But, its in a different category from employees, I guess, even though we are as dependent on income as everyone else.
Does anyone else have this problem of filing but receiving zero from the state??
Thanks a lot.
Wishing we lived in the Wisconsin we grew up in. I barely recognize this state.
Peace.

(64,189 posts)Were employees & were turned down (TN & SC) because no one asked about recent empyment! These folks lost jobs because covid shuttered businesses, yet the employees were denied benefits because UI office asked about emplpyment from years ago. 🙄😏🤬

(23,211 posts)my daughter (in Arizona) lost 2 jobs directly because of Covid and Arizona decided on some god knows what thing, that she wasn't qualified... my self employed son here in Vermont with questionable information to unemployment has already gotten 4 checks of unemployment with the added $600. in each...
I am so angry that there is so much unfairness about who is getting money and who isn't... the money should be there to help the people who sincerely need it and I have seen and read about so many situations where this is absolutely not where it is going most of the time
I hope the best for you and husband

(14,429 posts)Tens of thousands still waiting weeks to receive their first check.
Meanwhile, state government furloughed workers were told they didnt even have to file; the money would be directly deposited into their bank accounts automatically without them ever lifting a finger.
