OCONTO Residents and officials in the city of Oconto are continuing to clean up from the worst flooding in decades after the Oconto River overran its banks Monday night and Tuesday.
Many homes and properties were affected, though the number and the extent of damage have not yet been compiled, said Oconto City Administrator Sara Perrizo.
The high water affected primarily Pecor, McDonald, Water, Turner, Ontario, Bridge, First and Second streets, though properties along adjacent roads could have also been flooded. The mobile home park on Farnsworth Avenue also flooded.
Some residents evacuated their homes, though it's not yet known how many were displaced. Oconto Fire Rescue Department provided help to residents who were leaving.
At one point, 3 feet of water was standing on Pecor Street, Perrizo said..................
