Voices of Men community engagement leader resigns after sexual harassment reports
APPLETON - The community engagement leader for a men's group that seeks to help end domestic abuse and sexual assault has resigned in the wake of sexual harassment reports by two women, Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin said Thursday.
Goodwill learned mid-morning Tuesday that two women had come forward to report that Fox Valley Voices of Men's Shannon Kenevan had "demonstrated behaviors that directly violate the mission, standards and expectations" of the group, the organization said in a statement Thursday.
"They were courageous enough to report this to their employer and then as the agency that's involved with the program Voices of Men, we were called in to make a decision on Kenevan's employment," Chris Hess, Goodwill NCW's president and CEO, told USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin Thursday afternoon. "As soon as we were alerted to this, we demanded and received his resignation."
Hess would not give a specific number of instances but said that it is the organization's understanding that the incidents with Kenevan were happening recently.
