Raleigh County seeking poll workers for upcoming election, paid training offered

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) - Raleigh County election officials are asking registered county voters to consider serving as poll workers for the upcoming election.

Officials said potential poll workers must be registered in Raleigh County. Workers are typically assigned close to home, but applicants may be asked if they can travel to other polling locations within Raleigh County.

Poll workers will be required to take a paid training class held one evening before Election Day, usually from 6-8ish, according to county officials. Training pay is $50. Those who work on Election Day will be paid $200, for a total of $250.

Anyone interested can call (304) 252-8681 to be added to the poll worker list.
