Marion Co., West Virginia, Clerk's office receives ballots, continues election prep

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — The Marion County Clerk’s Office received the county’s general election ballots on Wednesday, completing the next step in the process as officials prepare for the Nov. 5 election.

Ballots came just in time, as the county will be sending some of them to military personnel who have requested an absentee ballot on Friday, said Marion County Clerk Julie Kincaid.

“With them arriving today, it will make the process a little smoother simply because those ballots all have to be sorted and separated by precinct,” she said. “I’m very happy the ballots arrived today, because we’ve had situations in the past where they arrived on the same day they had to go out, and that’s a lot to prepare for.”

Her department will soon have sample ballots available both in the office and online for voters to preview, Kincaid said.
