Skimming devices reported in Everett at gas stations, ATMs
EVERETT — Skimming devices that steal credit and debit card information are being reported at gas stations, ATMs and grocery stores with regularity, according to Everett police.
These devices, often discreet and difficult to detect, capture card data and record PIN entries, allowing criminals to create fraudulent payment cards.
“We have had steady reports of them happening for years now,” said Natalie Given, spokesperson for the Everett Police Department.

Everett police recommend using ATMs in well-lit indoor locations and monitoring bank and credit card transactions regularly. Consumers should also consider setting up text or email alerts for purchases and using tap-to-pay options when available.
