Snohomish County Elections office to host candidate workshops in April

EVERETT — Snohomish County Elections will host four workshops in April to help aspiring candidates get their names on this year’s ballot.

The hour-long workshops will cover candidate filing requirements, deadlines and guidelines for Local Voters’ Pamphlet statements.

More than 180 local offices are up for election throughout the county. Candidate filing week lasts from 8 a.m. May 5 to 5 p.m. May 9. Candidates can file online at votewa.gov, in person or by mail.

“Our goal with these candidate workshops is to make the filing process more accessible and less intimidating, especially for first-time candidates,” Snohomish County Auditor Garth Fell said in a press release. “Through these informational workshops, we hope to eliminate barriers that might stand in the way of qualified, capable individuals running for office.”
