Washington State Republicans are wrong in claiming we've had "forty years of one party rule" in the statehouse
Despite having total control of the federal government with wannabe dictator Donald Trump and his many totally obedient lackeys — including in the United States Congress — Republicans in Washington State are frustrated and miserable.
They haven’t won a statewide election in years, they are down to just two U.S. House seats out of ten in the delegation, they keep losing seats in the Legislature, Democrats continue to pick up key local positions like Mayor of Spokane, Snohomish County Sheriff, and Pierce County Executive, and voters have mostly said no very loudly to the ballot measures they have cooked up to overturn Democratic legislative accomplishments.
Rather than reflecting on why voters here don’t trust them with power, however, Republicans have chosen to spend their energies vociferously complaining at every turn about how Washington is being governed. Megadonor Brian Heywood (Jablome), a key funder of Republican projects and the man who funded last year’s slate of initiatives that voters didn’t like, went to a town hall meeting on Saturday in the 45th District and had a difficult time listening to Senator Manka Dhingra and Representatives Larry Springer and Roger Goodman discuss the state’s pressing challenges with constituents.
