Bob Ferguson heads into general voting period with the largest head-to-head lead for governor we've seen in our polling
As ballots land in voters mailboxes across Washington State, Democratic gubernatorial frontrunner Bob Ferguson has slightly widened his head-to-head advantage over Dave Reichert and is well positioned to prevail in this years race for the states top job, NPIs latest survey of the Washington State electorate has found.
48% of 571 likely Washington voters surveyed this week by Public Policy Polling for the Northwest Progressive Institute said they were voting for Ferguson for governor, while 41% said they were voting for Reichert. Another 10% were not sure.
The seven-point is advantage is Fergusons largest head-to-head lead in our polling this cycle. Ferguson previously led Reichert by four points (
in February) and six points (in May and July). Prior to that,
we had found Reichert with a slim two-point lead, in a survey that fielded around eleven months ago the first public poll of the cycle in which Ferguson and Reichert were pitted against each other in a head-to-head matchup.
Fergusons advantage in other recently released public polls is greater.
