Elway corroborates NPI's finding that all of Brian Heywood's bad initiatives are polling under fifty percent
The four destructive statewide initiatives that the Washington State Republican Party has made the linchpin of its strategy for success in the 2024 presidential election are in rough shape with about a month to go until ballots are mailed to in-state voters, a new survey conducted by Elway Research for Cascade PBS suggests.
Using the actual language that voters will see on their ballots (something we’ve been encouraging other pollsters to do!), Elway found that Initiatives 2066, 2109, 2117, and 2124 are all under fifty percent, just as NPI did back in July.
Elway’s May polling also found the measures under fifty percent, but with higher percentages of undecided voters, and without leads for any of the no campaigns.
That has now changed. Elway’s September survey finds that two of the four measures have opposition exceeding support. Because pollster Stuart Elway is now using the statements of subject, concise descriptions, and public investment impact disclosures voters will see, we can have a higher degree of confidence in his firm’s findings.
