Last gasp of summer to come to Snohomish County later this week

EVERETT — Summer’s not over yet. Sunshine and balmy temperatures were expected to return Wednesday. Forecasters anticipate them to peak Thursday and remain into early next week.

A heat advisory will be in effect from 8 a.m. Thursday until 11 p.m. Friday for much of Western Washington.

Eastern Snohomish County will be hottest this week, with Darrington expected to hit 96 degrees Thursday, 94 on Friday and 91 on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Other inland cities will also be warm Thursday, with 87 degrees predicted for Lake Stevens and 90 in Monroe.

Our forests and especially the areas we have planted new trees really appreciate it.
Will do some supplemental watering of new trees to help reduce the stress while they are getting established.
Trees often seem to make it through severe weather only to die in subsequent years.
