Related: About this forumJason Rantz is wrong, as usual: The Democratic Party's presidential nominee will be on the Washington State ballot
Earlier this month, in another attempt to troll for clicks, right wing talk show host Jason Rantz generated a 1,600+ word “story” for KTTH’s website devoted to the entirely false premise that there’s a chance the Democratic Party won’t have its presidential nominee listed on the Washington State ballot. This “story” has been circulating again on social channels following Joe Biden’s decision to stand down.
As a strategist and advocate with decades of party rules writing and Washington State election law expertise, I’m happy to set the record straight and declare that what Rantz wrote earlier this month pertains to an unrealistic hypothetical scenario that absolutely nobody needs to worry about. The presidential and vice presidential nominees of the Democratic Party (almost certainly Kamala Harris and a running mate to be announced) will be listed on the Washington State general election ballot this autumn.
Why am I so confident?
Because (a) the state’s deadline for submitting names is clear, and (b) the Democratic Party will be prepared to meet that deadline, as it has in the past, and (c) if for some unusual reason it weren’t, the party could seek a legislative remedy.

I listened to Rantz a couple of times on KIRO before he went to the Nazi station. He tried to sound rational but made mostly strawmen arguments.
