Washington's own Pramila Jayapal rallies thousands at Netroots Nation to keep organizing for progressive change

Welcome back to NPI’s coverage of Netroots Nation 2024 from Baltimore, Maryland. This evening, the conference’s middle day culminated with a powerful keynote session featuring Representative Pramila Jayapal, UAW’s Shawn Fain, Maryland State Senator Jill P. Carter, Ash-Lee Woodard Henderson, strategist and framing expert Anat Shenker-Osorio, and Netroots Nation boardmember Melissa Ryan. Each speaker referenced the current crisis facing American democracy while calling for collective action.

Ryan opened the session. She emphasized that the right wing is employing despair as a strategy to suppress the fight for people’s rights. “MAGA Republicans want us to not just stay at home on Election Day, but every day, and that’s their path to power.”

After spotlighting the strategy that the right is employing, Ryan outlined a plan to combat it. First, hold ultra MAGA Republicans accountable everywhere in communities. Second, run against the Supreme Court and its total lack of a binding code of ethics. And lastly, stand in solidarity with one another.

“MAGA wants us to believe that our families, our communities, and a better way of life aren’t worth fighting for. But, if I have learned anything over the past decade, it’s that we might be able to survive on our own, but we can only thrive together,” she said.

we must keep the GQP out as much as possible, i.e., keep the Presidency and take the house and keep the senate. Grassroot in red states as well as keep the blue states. Judges and Justices, especially the US SC.
