Paine Field earns spot on Newsweek best small airports list
Newsweek has unveiled its readers' choice list of the top 10 small airports in the country, and Seattle Paine Field International Airport made the list.
The Everett airport ranked third, trailing only No. 1 Huntsville International Airport in Alabama and No. 2 Lehigh Valley International Airport in Pennsylvania. No other Pacific Northwest airport was named to the list.
"We are honored to receive this award acknowledging Seattle Paine Field as one of the best small airports in the nation," Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports, which operates Seattle Paine Field's passenger terminal, said in a news release. "Since the terminal's inception, we have worked hard to ensure that Seattle Paine Field offers the best possible service and experience for our customers, and it is gratifying to see industry leaders continue to recognize our work."
It's been more than five years since commercial flights were introduced at the new Seattle Paine Field terminal. Alaska Airlines flies to 10 destinations out of the airport.
