A 35-year-old man was charged Monday with allegedly shooting his 8-month-old son while he slept after taking a hallucinatory drug, according to King County prosecutors.
Dion Lamar Montgomery is charged with homicide, illegally possessing a firearm and two counts of first-degree assault. He is accused of shooting at two unsuspecting people in the street before going home and shooting his son in the infants bedroom, according to charging documents.
The King County Medical Examiners Office identified the baby as Alaisea Matai Montgomery on Monday. The boy died died from a gunshot to the head, the office said, ruling his death as a homicide.
According to police, Montgomery claimed he took PCP, a mind-altering anesthetic that can cause people to become agitated, delusional and irrational. Montgomery blamed his actions on demons, according to Seattle police.
