Smith Tower, Seattle's original skyscraper, goes on the market

Smith Tower, the iconic skyscraper in downtown Seattle, is on the market for the second time in four years.

Eastdil Secured is marketing the 109-year-old building, according to a report by Seattle Times, though an asking price has not been made public.

The offering includes the two-story Florence Building, which is next to the tower. Both buildings last changed hands in 2019 for $137 million, according to King County sales records.

The property is owned by Goldman Sachs affiliate Broad Street Principal Investments LLC, which acquired it from Unico Properties four years ago. Unico retained a stake in the properties and continues to manage and operate the buildings.

109-year-old? I'd hire multiple structural engineering firms to review that puppy first. TheBlackAdder Aug 2023 #1
