Espresso martinis with olive oil? Starbucks may serve them in Seattle

Howard Schultz's big reveal of what he called a "game changer" for Starbucks Corp. (Nasdaq: SBUX) is here: olive oil-infused drinks.

During a call with investors on Feb. 2, the outgoing CEO said an announcement was coming for something "unlike anything I've ever experienced."

Last week, he unveiled the coffee giant's new olive oil-infused drinks, dubbed Oleato, which range from lattes and cortados to cold brews and more. The beverages are being slowly introduced, debuting at Starbucks stores in Italy and then Southern California this spring.

An olive oil espresso martini is reportedly coming to Seattle this spring, though company officials declined to confirm the news.

A martini is made with gin, vermouth, and an olive. I have learned to live with the notion of a "vodka martini" but I won't stand still for these other aberrations.
