Boil water advisory in effect for 75 Snohomish homes
SNOHOMISH About 75 Snohomish homes were under a boil water advisory Monday following a break in the citys main water line.
According to a press release, an active break in a water line at the intersection of Sanders Road and South Carpenter Road resulted in a loss of pressure around 5 p.m. Sunday. About 75 homes along Sanders Road and OK Mill Road, 10 miles northeast of downtown Snohomish, received boil water notices from the city, the release said.
The press release said no indication of contamination to the water system has yet been found. The boil water advisory is a proactive and preemptive measure to ensure health and safety, the release said.
City spokesperson Shari Iretonsaid water staff remain confident there is no contamination to the city water supply because the break is under positive pressure, meaning water is only shooting out, not flowing back in.
