The owners of the Century Square tower in downtown Seattle are suing Twitter, alleging the social media giant has not paid rent on space it abruptly vacated.
A complaint filed Thursday in King County Superior Court accuses Twitter of defaulting on its lease by not paying rent for December and January and for "indicating it would not be paying any rent moving forward."

After billionaire Elon Musk bought the company in late October, he reportedly directed staff to not pay rent on offices outside of the main building at its San Francisco headquarters. A New York Times report in late December said the company had effectively dissolved its Seattle hub, allowing employees based in the area to work from home.
A San Francisco landlord has also sued the company for alleged nonpayment.
