Incredibly, the deer seemed not harmed at all. The bus driver opened the door, and out it went.

Back in 2007, I bought a brand new VW and was picking my son up that night from school. On the way home, I rounded a bend and had a deer trot into the road from left to right. Tried to avoid him, but ran out of shoulder. Hit the deer hard enough to drop it. Got out and was in the process of removing what I thought was the carcass from the road. Suddenly it jumps up and stands there, probably getting its bearings adjusted. Finally, smacked it on the butt and it took off into a field, never to be seen again. Hard to explain the situation to the insurance adjustor.....
