VA-SD10: Republicans Nominate "YakAttack" Founder Luther Cifers, Who Believes "life begins at conception.
Late last night, Republicans nominated this guy, “YakAttack” founder/owner Luther Cifers, as their nominee to replace John McGuire – who’s headed to Congress to represent VA05 – in the Virginia State Senate (District 10). This is a deep-red district, so it’s highly likely that the 1,000 or so Republicans in Goochland County last night will have decided the next State Senator for the district of 200k people. Democracy, huh? Also newsworthy from last night is that former State Sen. Amanda Chase lost badly – presumably because she pissed off a LOT of her fellow Republicans, not because she’s a far-right extremist, but just because she’s constantly attacking them, burning her bridges, etc. See below for a few of reporter Tammy Purcell’s tweets from the “Mass Meeting” last night.
