https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/15/trumps-canadian-tariffs-are-having-a-chilling-effect-on-vermonts-small-business-owners.htmlPresident Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canadian products, along with the escalating trade war and rhetoric between the two nations, is starting to squeeze some small businesses in Vermont.
Concerns for those small businesses include a decline in merchandise shipments to Canadian customers, a drop off in Canadian tourism and higher prices from imported products.
“I would rather take the position of being proactive and not just thinking about absorbing the problem,” said Bill Butler, a co-owner of Artisans Hand Craft Gallery in Montpelier.

Unfortunately he and his followers are too stupid to realize how many Red state voters are going to suffer as much, or more, from all his nonsense.
Ignorance and cruelty are two key elements of MAGA thinking.

I remember 10th grade biology & you can't harm one part of an organism, or selected parts, & think the rest will just continue on like before.

(9,080 posts)3. Just did a little online shopping.
Went to Kiss the Cook and got some maple candy, maple syrup and a couple hot sauces. Then I clicked on Barhill Gin and bought a couple of bottles to go with the local Honey, it’s going to be wonderful when the shipments arrive. Added plus, I get to relive some of the past fun visiting Vermont

Tried the gin during the bitter beginning of the pandemic. It was very good but I guess I'm not a gin drinker anymore....

I started shopping at Kiss the Cook and bought 2 jars of Champlain Vally honey and then went to Barhill and the first thing on the web site was their honey.
