COAST GUARD SEARCHING FOR MISSING KAYAKER ON LAKE CHAMPLAIN, VERMONT, ASKING FOR HELP FROM PUBLIC
BOSTON The Coast Guard is asking for assistance from the public in the search for a kayaker who went missing on Lake Champlain, Vermont Saturday.
Sean Hawley, 25, 6'2 and 180 pounds was last seen at 11:00 p.m. Saturday paddling a black, inflatable kayak in the direction of Plattsburg, New York near Colchester Point, Vermont.
Colchester Police Notified Coast Guard Station Burlington at 6:39 p.m. Sunday. Sector Northern New England in Portland, Maine issued a notice to mariners and immediately started the search.
The following are involved in the search:
*Coast Gaurd HC-144a Ocean Sentry Aircraft from Air Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts
*Coast Guard 25-foot Response-boat Small from Station Burlington, Vermont
*New York State Poiice Helicopter
*Plattsburg Police Department surface boat
*Clinton County Police Department
