Lubbock County leaders name new elections admin as Stinson to retire

Lubbock County leaders have named a new elections administrator after Roxzine Stinson announced she is stepping down next month after 23 years of service.

The Lubbock County Elections Commission appointed Troy Havard to take over for Stinson on Aug. 1, according to a county news release.

Stinson began working in the county's elections office in 2003. Two years later, she served as the chief deputy administrator and took over as elections administrator in 2021, overseeing countywide elections, voter registration and compliance with state and federal election laws.

"She has served impeccably," said Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish. "She will definitely be missed. She runs the best elections office in the state, and I think the statewide reputation of Lubbock and its election office is second to none."
