Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick wants the 'New York Strip' to become the 'Texas Strip'

Dan Patrick is an idiot

AUSTIN, Texas — President Donald Trump renamed a body of water. Now, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick says he wants to change the name of a steak.

In a post to X on Friday afternoon, Patrick said a resolution will be filed to rename the “New York Strip” to the “Texas Strip” at restaurants and grocery stores here in the Lone Star State. He noted that Texas leads the nation with around 12.2 million head of cattle.

Patrick floated the idea to Texas Cattle Feeders and Cattle Raisers this week.

“Out of curiosity, I asked each of them their favorite cut of meat,” Patrick posted. “A few said New York Strip. I asked why we didn’t call it a ‘Texas Strip’ because New York has mostly dairy cows. Just because a New York restaurant named Texas beef a New York Strip in the 19th Century doesn’t mean we need to keep doing that.”

According to Patrick’s post, the Texas Senate will file a resolution to make it official. He said he’s asking restaurants to change the name on menus next time they’re printed. He said he’s also asking grocery stores to do the same and hopes it catches on around the country and worldwide.

“In a world filled with serious issues that we address every day at the Texas Capitol, this simple resolution will help better market Texas beef,” Patrick wrote. “That’s good for the Texas cattle industry. The Cattle Associations sure liked the idea.“

Restaurants in and around Kansas City call that cut a "Kansas City Strip Steak."

Texas will have to stand in line for naming or re-naming privileges.

7. Patrick has proposed a lot stupider things than this, over the years.

Trust me, I've been hearing Dan Patrick's bullshit for decades---he'd have to boost his I.Q. by a hundred points, just to make it into "Lame-brain" status. God forbid he ever becomes the Governor of our put-upon state---we'd be looking back on Abbott's reign as the "good old days."

Sorry, I shouldn’t have used the phrase “het up”. Patrick and his pseudo-Christian followers probably going to get upset about that too.

Ol' Dannie Goeb, The Silver-tongued Devil from East Baltimore, MD, alumnus of UMBC, is a real Texan who represents real Texas values and is a powerful voice for generational Texans.
He makes Texas the greatest state ever.

THIS is his most pressing problem? Renaming a cut of meat? Hea... call it what you will. I know several cuts that have unknown names to me, but I still call them what I know them by. And so it will be if he gets this law passed... it will ALWAYS be the NY Strip.

Political representatives, get out of your billionaire bubbles and tend to the real problems the rest of the real world are dealing with. No matter what you call the Gulf of Mexico, or a cut of meat, or an individual... it just doesn't matter in the long run. Idjits!
