A Texas lawmaker said he may introduce legislation next year aimed at pushing back the start of the school year as a way to reduce awfully wasteful stress on our power grid, according to a social media post this weekend.

OP
I don't believe that wind power is very profitable anymore and reliability is also an issue.

We need to start school earlier to finish the semester before Christmas break!
We need to start school later because its still too hot in August to even let kids go outside for recess!
I dont know what the answer is, but Im glad my schedule is no longer tied to a school calendar.

About a decade ago the city of Georgetown and my alma mater tried to go entirely green, but they got locked into long term contracts that they eventually canceled because they were paying rates that were significantly higher than what was available in the regular market. It was nice for the university and the city to have boasting rights going 100% green, but it all came at the expense of the clients. While those entities and the clients were willing to pay above average rates, it became a deal breaker when the price for wind power became more than twice what they would have paid otherwise. Both entities have backed away from the 100% green commitment.
