Governor Abbott's new motto: If I can't bus them out, I'll drown them out.

During the Trump administration, the orange one signed an executive order to take children away from their parents if they showed up at the border asking for asylum. The rationale behind Trumps cruel family separation policy was that if immigrants believed they would be separated from their children if caught, they might be less likely to come to America and ask for refuge.
Under that ruthless policy, over five thousand children were taken away from their parents. And while many have been returned, hundreds were lost in the system, never to be seen or heard from again.
In the end, research showed that both family detention and family separation policies have not deterred families from coming to the United States.
Because of this policy, the saying, cruelty is the point, became a common phrase when speaking of GOP policy. Greg Abbotts latest political stunt is no different.

I wish I could tell you that this was just hyperbole, but in a recent Wallstreet Journal article, Greg Abbott and DPS Director Steve McGraw were quoted saying, The hope is that the possibility of death will deter people from trying to cross the river.
Do your thing, Justice Dept, and make it quick. This is pre-meditated murder.

Abbot even looks evil, like a James Bond movie villain.
