SAPD file DWI charge against District 10 Councilman Clayton Perry

Exactly one month after an alleged hit-and-run crash near his North Side home, the San Antonio Police Department on Tuesday, December 6, has filed a driving while intoxicated charge against former District 10 Councilman Clayton Perry.

The DWI charge was submitted by the SAPD earlier on Tuesday and filed through the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, according to a release shared with MySA.

In the short statement, the District Attorney’s Office said the charge is still being reviewed and that no further comments can be made on the manner as the case is still pending.

"The San Antonio Police Department filed an at-large case of driving while intoxicated against Clayton Perry earlier today with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. This case, as well as the arrest charge of failure to stop and give information, are now being reviewed by prosecutors to determine if the cases can be proved beyond reasonable doubt," the release said. "If accepted, an information will be filed and the case will be sent to court for prosecution. Details on at-large court filings are not publicly available until they have been filed in court. Because these cases are pending, we can make no further comment on them."
