Texas Republicans say feds should pay costs of Gov. Greg Abbott's border operation

WASHINGTON — Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Sherman, wants the Pentagon to help pick up the tab for Gov. Greg Abbott’s immigration-and-drugs dragnet at the southern border.

Fallon said Friday he was introducing a bill that would require the Defense Department to reimburse the state of Texas for more than $1.4 billion in costs stemming from what has been dubbed Operation Lone Star.

The legislation cites thousands of migrants turned back at the border as evidence the initiative has stopped mass migrations into the United States.

“It is the sense of Congress that Operation Lone Star has been a tremendous help to stem the tide of illegal immigration and its members should be recognized for their efforts,” according to the bill offered by Fallon and co-sponsored by 11 other Texas Republicans.

Y'all want to run it, y'alls way, y'all pay for it yourselves.

Effing military ain't giving Texas any of their appropriation in any case. Reckon who is paying for all this aid to Ukraine? That's a hell of a lot more important than destroying the desperate hopes of asylum seekers from the South.
