and I imagine that the GOP legislators are getting sick of the fiasco since they are not receiving their per diem while racking up the bills in Austin. It will be interesting to see whether Gov. Abbott allows time for the Democratic legislators to return home from Washington D.C. or if he call another special session immediately.

I'm grateful that I was not a legislative staffer since I would be wondering whether my next check is going to show up on September 1.

Not to mention the pressure coming from the governor and suddenly being on the national stage. Beto and Rev. Barber may be used to it, but I'm guessing that the Democratic legislators aren't - not to mention never knowing what's going to happen from day to day. And, yes, whether anyone is still going to be paid. It's got to be frustrating for the Republicans, too. But isn't that the point?
