State probe of Jeremy Durham's campaign finances expected to extend to 2017

State campaign finance officials' investigation into Jeremy Durham is not expected to be complete until sometime early next year, according to sources familiar with the ongoing investigation.

The probe into Durham's campaign finances is not on the agenda for the state Registry of Election Finance's meeting Wednesday.

Despite the audit not appearing on the agenda, Drew Rawlins, executive director of the state Bureau of Ethics and Campaign Finance, which is the entity that oversees the registry, said the Durham probe might be mentioned but "not in detail."

That's because the investigation into Durham has yet to be finalized, said Tom Lawless, chairman of the registry.
