1C category opened up. I signed up with the health department. Can't get an appointment before June or July even though I got the special link (sent to my spam folder). 1C category people are in competition with 1As and 1Bs. And now they're talking about opening it up to everybody. Shit.
Not a goddam vaccine to be had for 20 miles.
It does no good to brag about 101 million vaccines if the people who are eligible cannot get one. Fuck Trump and Fuck Bill Lee for creating this fucked up Hunger Games scenario.

(953 posts)First, congratulations on getting your appointment! That is truly wonderful news!
My husband and I having to drive 23 miles to get our vaccinations March 16th, but we made our appointments a month ago via the online Tennessee website. We live about 20 miles from Knoxville.

(26,232 posts)I figure I might need it for both appointments. I took pics of the confirmation info. They didn't send me the email confirmation.

(11,591 posts)Waited a week and found it under my account. The pharmacist here said all 2nd appoints are 4 weeks out. Since I got Pfizer and you need only wait 3 weeks I tried to get him to move it up but had no luck. I think theyre doing 4 weeks to cover both Moderna and Pfizer. He said 4 weeks is within guidelines for Pfizer.
Id be checking out where your confirmation is.

(744 posts)They said they would vaccinate anyone over 16 with health issue. Last month Some of my friends drove from Shelby co to Lake co because they did not need an appointment.

(26,232 posts)It's just not organized very well here at all. I wonder if the smaller counties are handling it better.

(34,641 posts)Here in Ohio .... I am 1C and had to wait a whole month since 1B opened up. I tried for a week, calling and searching the net trying to track down a vaccine. It seemed like everyone I knew who got one, got it right away, but nothing was available for me. It was beyond frustrating! I, too, finally got a hit with CVS.
I have a friend whose brother-in- law hadnt even tried to track down a vaccine, even though he was eligible. He goes into the drug store one day to pick up a prescription for his girl friend, and they announce over the PA system We have leftover vaccines here in the pharmacy if anyone in the store wants one so he got his right then and there! Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

They had an entire week of shot slots all day from morning until 3 to 5 in the afternoon I was shocked but I was able to schedule my brother and his girlfriend to get theirs this Tuesday... keep trying and don't wait till July if you don't have to....
