TSU accreditation on probation because school failed to show how it improves student outcomes

Tennessee State University's standards are in question after the college failed to show how it used data to improve student outcomes, a requirement to keep its accreditation.

The university's accreditation was put on a one-year probation because of the lapse. TSU President Glenda Glover confirmed the decision, which she called "unfortunate," in an email to students and staff.

Glover said the university would continue to function as normal while officials addressed the probation.

"We have a plan in place to meet this standard and will submit the required documentation immediately," Glover wrote in the email sent Thursday. "We have every confidence that we can address this standard going forward."
