Stephen Colbert's sister to run for District 1 seat

By Jeremy Turnage - email

Elizabeth Colbert-Busch, the sister of late night comedian and South Carolina native Stephen Colbert, is planning to run for Congress in the 1st District race, according to the state's Democratic Party.

According to Amanda Loveday, executive director of the state's Democrats, Colbert-Busch has told the party of her intentions to seek the seat vacated by Sen. Tim Scott.

Scott was recently appointed to Jim DeMint's Senate seat after he left to run the Heritage Foundation.

Colbert-Busch is currently the director of business development at the Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility at Clemson University.

Especially in the general election. We heard so much about the "women vote" in the last election, I think many women who would have forgiven him for an affair and divorce will not be able to vote for him considering how horribly he humiliated his wife and four sons. I bet his opponent will run some of his old Gov ads where he is surrounded by his family and droning on about how much they mean to him and his commitment to family values.
And, he could even face some trouble in the primary because several people running are - believe it or not - more tea party than he is.
This may be wishful thinking but I hope the bastard gets his ass handed to him.
