Is meat the new toilet paper?
As meat and poultry plants around the country struggle to stay open in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, grocery stores in Rhode Island are seeing a spike in demand that has forced them to limit the amount of meat shoppers can buy in each visit.
But, unlike the run on toilet paper in March during the early days of the crisis, merchants predict shoppers will have less difficulty finding beef, pork and chicken.
I think were going to be OK. Everybody just needs to take a deep breath, said Sue Budlong, spokeswoman for Daves Fresh Marketplace. Dont buy 50 packages.
Daves has instituted a limit of three packages of chicken and three packages of beef per customer, Budlong said Friday.

(37,850 posts)the had lamb meatballs, burgers, chops stuffed with lamb, a meatloaf mix. I know some people don't like it, but the farms have more than they need. They use garlic and mint in the burgers, I love them on the grill, mint jelly while they are hot.
They had larger family packs of boneless chicken reasonable.

(2,488 posts)Central Ohio. Saw on the news last night that Kroger will be limiting the amount of protein items that customers can purchase so there will be enough to go around. Looks like they learned their lesson from the toilet paper hoarders.
