Police report: Ex-lawmaker Watson found naked, bleeding in neighbor's house
EAST GREENWICH, R.I. Neighbors of former Republican lawmaker Robert Watson got an eyeful Monday afternoon when, they told police, he ran naked and bleeding into their home.
This was the second time that Watson, the former House minority leader, had gotten into their house on South Pierce Road, one of the residents told East Greenwich police. This time, the family wanted to press charges.
Police released the report about the bizarre incident on Wednesday, the day after Watson appeared before a District Court judge on a breaking and entering charge. Watson is currently being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutions as a probation violator.
When officers arrived at the house around 3:30 p.m. Monday, they found Watson naked, bleeding and disoriented inside the entryway to a bathroom, according to a police report. There was blood on the floor of the kitchen and bathroom, and blood on the towels, curtain and light switch inside the bathroom, police said.
