Montgomery County doubles Voter Services satellite offices, increases ballot drop boxes

NORRISTOWN — The Montgomery County Board of Elections has authorized the expansion of satellite offices and drop boxes in advance of the 2024 General Election.

Montgomery County voters will soon have eight Voter Services satellite offices and a total of 18 ballot drop boxes available across the county to meet the expected demands of the Nov. 5 election. This is an increase from the 2024 primary election, which had four satellite offices and 12 drop boxes.

“By doubling the number of satellite offices and increasing the number of secure drop boxes, we’re letting all eligible voters know that voting in Montgomery County is easy, secure, and convenient,” said Commissioner Neil K. Makhija, chairman of the Montgomery County Board of Elections. “There are still many counties across Pennsylvania that do not make any of these voter access options available. We want Montgomery County to set a standard for voter accessibility. In 2022, Montgomery County had one of the highest voter turnouts in the entire country; we want everyone to have even greater opportunity to make their voice heard in 2024.”

“We’re committed to ensuring that all eligible voters in Montgomery County, regardless of their physical ability or work schedules, have an opportunity to cast their vote in the 2024 General Election,” added Jamila H. Winder, chairwoman of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and vice chairwoman of the Board of Elections. “Making voting easy, secure, and convenient is our duty as elected officials. Whether you are a homebound senior, have a busy work schedule, or simply find voting by mail a convenient way to participate in the democratic process, this expansion of voter access serves you.”
